Our first experimental paper appeared
We are excited to have our first experimental paper published. We have investigated the superconducting order parameter of high-entropy alloys (HEA) using SQUID magnetometry. HEAs are a highly disordered alloy crystallising on simple cubic lattices. They show remarkable electric, thermal, and mechanical properties, making them promising candidates for technological applications. Our magnetisation measurements of the paradigmatic TaNbHfZrTi show that the superconducting state of these HEAs is of isotopic s-wave type. We further find that the significant amount of disorder, owing to the random arrangement of five different elements, does not directly correlate with the observed variations in the superconducting critical temperature.
Kudos to our undergraduate researcher Casey Leung who lead this project and to our collaborators Prof. Rolf Lortz at HKUST and Prof. Fabian v. Rohr at University of Geneva.
