Tunneling spectroscopy of quantum spin liquids

Check out our new paper posted on the arXiv tonight about tunneling spectroscopy of quantum spin liquids (QSL). We analytically investigate inelastic spin scattering off the fractionalized spin states of QSL for different tunnel junction geometries, including scanning tunneling microscopy experiments. We report that such tunnel experiments could be well suited to find spectroscopic evidence for this elusive phase of matter. We can’t wait to get our lab up and to test that ourselves!
